Slightly Smashy Yet Mostly Peaceful Protesters
The Alex Pretti story falls apart. Tempest spreads elsewhere. This is our 2026

It took less than a week for me to be proven correct about Alex Pretti, and for the false picture of a skinny, gentle saint to disintegrate like that taillight. Simultaneously, the local situation suddenly stabilized. Democratic leaders in Minnesota are now cooperating with ICE by turning over criminal aliens at the jail, where it is safe, instead of forcing DHS to round them up in the community, where it is unsafe. Minneapolis police started arresting people for rioting, and like magic, the riots mysteriously stopped in Minneapolis. There were angry protests in other cities, but Minnesota was calm this weekend.
Democratic leaders could have done this at any point and avoided the confrontation altogether, but they chose bloodshed instead. So what changed? Perhaps it was the White House officials who were criticized on Sunday turning out to know more about Pretti than their critics did by Thursday, or maybe it was the unmasking of the lieutenant governor’s justice-obstructing Signal chat, or it could be there is foundation to the rumors of foreign involvement, or all of these things at once may have provided the Trump administration with leverage to gain cooperation. Extremists on both sides are flummoxed, upset, for they wanted the confrontation.
For whatever reason, it is clear by now that the initial triumphalism of anti-ICE activists, to say nothing of elected Democrats, over the deal to end the confrontation in Minnesota was misplaced. Tim Walz and Jacob Frey blinked. Democrats have pulled back from the brink. This is what a climb-down looks like. Now we must ask the forensic questions, since nothing that has happened in the streets was organic.
I have questions. For example, why does Tim Walz talk tough, but back down every time uncomfortable questions about his career are pending? His retirement from the National Guard makes no sense and is of a piece with this retirement from confrontation. I want to know more about what Walz did on his 30 visits to China. American needs answers about his torrid affair with an obvious CCP honey pot, and why the legacy media never properly did its job of investigating these matters for the American voter in 2024.
Now that we have seen the all-out propaganda push from those same media gatekeepers to make us believe that Alex Pretti and Renée Good, both violent zealots of political religion, were saints, I no longer trust that anything they told me before, for example in 2020, was true, either. I once dismissed the idea that Fulton County, Georgia was hiding anything, and now I am not so sure. In fact, I don’t think I can trust anything the legacy media has said ever since they promoted the ‘fiery-yet-mostly-peaceful’ BLM protests. That episode proved the legacy media will lie to me about anything as long as they think they are on the right side of history.
