Minnesota Vice: 'Everyone Who Calls Out My Obvious Scam Is Racist White Supremacy'
The words that only hurt the people who use them, anymore
I began my ‘gender critical’ journey in 2018 when I walked out of a progressive conference room. I was quite sure I had just heard two women, both ostensibly in the reproductive rights space, describe a plan by multiple organizations to commit Medicaid and insurance fraud with pediatric gender medicine. By their own telling, this was effectively legal, necessary, and life-sustaining. They were lying, of course, and the fraud I detected in their scheme back then is being pursued and prosecuted by the Trump administration as 2026 dawns.
One immediate side-effect of no longer caring about my political bona fides was that words like ‘bigot’ and ‘transphobe’ immediately lost any power they ever held, over me. From the instant I understood the extent of the crime, I have perceived the language of the genderwoo activists as the patois of a criminal gang. A similar process is happening right now as Americans realize the extent and depth of fraud by the “community” of Somali immigrants in Minnesota. When Tim Walz blames President Trump and “white supremacy”, Americans hear such framing and phrasing as an admission of guilt in the biggest taxpayer fraud scandal they have ever seen.
Somalis are hardly the first ethnic group to arrive in the United States and develop a poor reputation in the first generation. Eastern European Jews, Mexicans, and Italians — especially Sicilians — all had this problem, and solved it by policing themselves in cooperation with American justice. No such arrangement has ever prevailed in Minnesota. Sean Alexander aka Actual Justice Warrior has started posting examples of local TV journalism on his channel. News reporters have visited some of the same daycare centers as streaming reporter Nick Shirley for over a decade.
This was going on for a long time, and now the attempted cover-up is worse than the crime. Tikki Brown, commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Children, Youth and Families, said on Monday that “Quality Learing Center closed just over a week ago” and therefore everything was fine. She could not keep this story straight with the manager of the facility, however. Shortly after Brown’s statement, Ibrahim Ali was outside the Quality Learing Center as the misspelled sign on his business was being repainted and corrected to “Quality Learning Center”.
This same location was formerly the Salama Child Care Center, which the FBI surveilled for 16 months and then raided in 2015. That now 11-year old investigation reportedly found that 229 children were enrolled when the allowed maximum was 60. According to a news report at the time, “a single day in January 2014, the FBI says Salama billed the state for 132 children, even though only 24 were observed entering the building — while on at least two other occasions Salama billed the state for services when the center was closed.” Nothing has changed. The scam remains the same.
Reporters watched parents as delivered 20 children to the front door, some of them giving statements that seem rehearsed, during their interview with Mr. Ali. Contradicting Ms. Brown, he assured the press gaggle that his facility has never, ever been closed even once in the last 8 years of misspelled signage. The Minnesota Department of Human Services meanwhile investigated Mr. Ali more than a dozen times from 2019 to 2023 and recorded 95 violations. Since then, he has received than $8 million from the American taxpayer without fixing his sign. Irony is dead, for this should have been a comedy sketch. Instead, it is fraud in unnumbered billions of dollars.
“We have to make it easier for folks to be able to get into [the child care] business and then to make sure that folks are able to pay for that. We were able to do it in Minnesota,” Tim Walz said in 2024. He was proposing a federal paid family medical leave program and mentioned his model of ‘making child care business easy’ as a bullet point in his resume for the vice presidency. Asked about the missing billions and fraud schemes, Walz retorts that “most crime is committed by white men” and blames Donald Trump. Only racism can possibly explain this sudden burst of interest in the program he once used to sell himself to the American voter!
Somalis are clearly taking their cues from the top in Minnesota. Shirley was mobbed at a Somali business hub while looking for an entity, “Advanced Mobility”, linked to his fraud investigations. “Why don’t you go to a white business!?” one Somali man snapped. This racialized defensiveness wears out very quickly when the fraud is systemic, sustained, and spread over many social welfare sectors, however. Child care is just one of a thousand ways that Somalis seem to have bilked the taxpayer: autism services, meals for the poor, Medicaid services, assisted living, all at “industrial scale”, to quote federal prosecutor Joseph H. Thompson. The problem Somalis have right now is that their community is rightfully seen as a hub for networks of fraudulent money laundering activity — not just in Minnesota, but across the country.
On Tuesday, yet another internet muckraker found another possible Somali daycare scam in Columbus, Ohio. “Somalis are 0.37% of the Washington population on the high end” journalism Cam Higby has observed. “DCYF records reflect that roughly 10% of daycare businesses list Somali as a primary language”, a statistical improbability without fraud, which must have spread by way of the ‘community’ and not some other network.
There is enough fraud, and enough billions in fraud, to occupy a whole midterm election cycle with discoveries, all tagged with the words “Somali community”, which Democrats will reflexively defend in the name of their weak god, “Diversity”. Weakness is political poison, and the video in which Tim Walz announced his surrender of Minnesota to Somali crime rings will haunt Democrats this fall in the form of ads. The ads don’t have to be racist, xenophobic, or any of the other words that will be used for them, anyway. To work, the ads just have to use facts, ask questions, and frame the problem as another Democratic Party fraud, just like their 2024 presidential ticket. The ads write themselves.

American families with two wage earners cannot afford child care while favored immigrants were showered with child care benefits that they abuse and exploit while Democrats looked the other way. Walz has announced new safeguards and made a big noise about combatting fraud. He is not ashamed. He will continue to run for re-election. Thus the conflict is assured even as ICE and DHS investigate, and Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon moves to compel the State of Minnesota to produce federal election records.
How much fraudulent funding went into the Democratic Party and its emergency ticket in 2024? What role might ActBlue have played in laundering fraudulent funds? And so on. On top of the potential links to terrorism in Somalia, where so much of the money went, there are serious questions that might get answered this year, shaping the election. Public interest is greater than legacy media outlets want to acknowledge. They want to see crimes punished. Scott Jennings spoke for median Americans on CNN. “Truthfully, until somebody in a position of power in Minnesota, who was responsible for administering or overseeing this massive fraud, goes to jail, it will never stop.” Attention will not diminish as long as crimes are revealed and prosecuted, judicial process that will outlast 2026.
I mentioned at the opening of this post that I was at a progressive conference when I left ‘the left’ in 2018. That same progressive conference was also held in 2011 in Minneapolis, and I was also there. I already knew the word ‘Islamophobia’, but I had never heard it so much. There was buzz around an alliance of American Muslims and the Democratic Party, which was interesting, because the shoe had been on the other foot until after American Muslims voted overwhelmingly for George W. Bush in 2000.
Conservative reactions to globalized mass immigration date to the 2004 publication of The Empty Cradle: How Falling Birthrates Threaten World Prosperity (And What to Do About It) by Phillip Longman. His argument that secular western progressives are failing to reproduce themselves, while traditionalists such as Mormons and Muslims have much higher rates of reproduction, was as influential on the left as the right. Concern with the rise of Latter Day Saints voters played out in the 2012 defeat of Mitt Romney. Democrats began the embrace of political Islam as a partner after the election of Barack Obama in 2008, but the super-charging incident was Trump’s 2017 ‘Muslim ban’, which elevated the identity category above everyone else on the AP Top 25 intersectional identities hierarchy.
However, religion is far down the list of facts about Rep. Ilhan Omar to which Americans may object. Her father, a colonel, was accused of complicity in the Issaq genocide, also called the Hargesia Holocaust, the deliberate annihilation of tens of thousands of people through aerial bombings, mass executions, rapes, village burnings, poisoned wells, land mines, and systematic destruction of infrastructure and resources. Her clan, the Darood, and specifically her subclan, the Majeerteen, are controversial within the Somali community due to their complicated roles in the civil war and famine. Such internecine disputes lay behind the victory of Mayor Jacob Frey over his Somali challenger, Omar Fateh, a favorite of Ilhan, in Minneapolis.
America has integrated immigrant communities with fractious internal politics before. The Irish nation is still disunited, just as the neighborhoods of Belfast remain separated, but Irish police busted the Irish mob in America long enough that Irish ancestry became a source of pride instead of shame. The Irish were not always ‘white’, or industrious, or intelligent, indeed the stereotypes of Irishness were the opposite for a long time. We may lament this past bigotry, but we must lament the soft bigotry of low expectations even more, and Ilhan Omar is the poster child for that corruption.
She sponsored the Maintaining Essential Access to Lunch for Students (MEALS) Act in March 2020. Passed in the bipartisan emergency of Covid-19, the bill created the loophole that Feeding Our Future exploited to defraud taxpayers of $250 million. Guhaad Hashi Said, a campaign volunteer, was indicted and convicted of the fraud. Ilhan Omar held parties at Safari Restaurant, which is named in the fraud indictment. A top Ilhan Oman aide, Ali Isse, praised Feeding Our Future on camera in 2021 and admonished state agencies for asking too many questions out of ignorance. This is a network, working.
Busting criminal networks is essential to the rehabilitation of the image of the Somali community in America. Tim Walz does not have those millions in his personal accounts, and contrary to rumor, neither does Ilhan Omar. Instead, they took their profits in the form of political power. The words they use to accuse their accusers are political words chosen for political reasons, now over-used. Fascism did not cause the massive fraud bubble in blue Minnesota, or wherever else it expanded. Hate and ignorance were not responsible.
It was all that ‘diversity’, the goddess of lowered standards and silenced dissent in Minnesota government, which enabled the fraud bubble to inflate, and desperately wishes us to ignore and forget the greatest swindle in American history now. Legacy media seems determined to ignore and minimize the story even now, but I do not think they can hold out forever. Democrats do themselves no favors by trying to deflect, defame, or sputter in whataboutery. Nobody cares if you call them racist anymore. If shutting down billion-dollar schemes to defraud the taxpayer is ‘racist’, then prepare to watch a significant number of taxpayers vote like ‘racists’, and not care.

It is not possible to blame the Somali diaspora entirely for the predicament they find themselves in, today. Not entirely. Just mostly, and in as collective a tribal manner as that ‘community’ displays themse…
