Glenn Greenwald Is Getting Off On The Humiliation Of His Sexual Exposure

Paraphilia is not heroism

I do not believe for one flat second that Glenn Greenwald is a victim of the derp state, or Mossad’s Epstein network, or any other shadowy power. Newly “leaked” phone video of Greenwald doing disgusting sexual things, and clearly enjoying his humiliation, has made its way around the internet, furthering that exposure which he enjoys so much.

Greenwald is not a victim. Greenwald participated in his humiliation fetish with another man on camera knowing that the video would, or at least could, escape containment. No “criminal” activity has taken place at all. His “political enemies” are not responsible. The motives for the “leak” are not “maliciously political” as he claims, but entirely libidinous, belonging only to the “free speech warrior.” Greenwald did it to get off, and he is still getting off on it.

I repeat: Greenwald is getting off on all this attention. He receives a deep, sexual satisfaction from manipulating everyone this way. Every supportive website, reporter, commentator, and commenter is participating in Greenwald’s humiliation fetish. Every contrarian website, reporter, commentator, or commenter who includes visuals or descriptions of the acts contained in the video is participating in Greenwald’s humiliation fetish. He loves it.

Rather than participate in the paraphilia, I am calling out the purpose. I will say that one item seen in the video is of passing familiarity to me, having had some exposure to low-rent convenience stores. It is a “rose pipe,” a bulbous glass pipe used for smoking meth or crack that contains a small fake flower. Customers who buy the pipes to smoke drugs are legally purchasing the fake flower instead of the illegal pipe. Like too many gay men, Greenwald is evidently chasing a chemical sex high.

It is worth noting that his strapping-great husband, David Michael dos Santos Miranda, died in 2023 after a nine-month stay in intensive care. Rebounding from the death of a spouse, Greenwald is 58 years old and on the cusp of being an elder gay man, which is to say no longer in demand. Greenwald is making choices consistent with a self-destructive phase of late-life sexual libertinism. His long career of hating America fittingly resolves as self-hatred, enacted on the internet.

The circumstances of how the video wound up on the Internet is subject to debate. While Greenwald doesn't apologize for his behavior in the video, he did characterize the publishing of the video as a criminal act, one committed by his unnamed political enemies.

But images reviewed by The Desk reveal that isn't what happened. Greenwald's own account shared the video after it was uploaded by another X user. The account of the original publisher includes a name that appears to be linked to the man Greenwald paid over PayPal. The video was on Greenwald's account for just a few minutes before the re-tweet was deleted. The original video remained online for about an hour until the uploader changed their privacy settings to block it from public view.

He did it to himself. He wanted the world to see.
