Last week, I reported that former James O’Keefe associate Kenneth C. Larrey had tried winning a charity auction for a strategy session with Sandra Fluke. A second “hostile bidder” has now been identified:
The winning bidder was apparently RosieR, who bid $400. RosieR had been in something of a bidding war with two other bidders, SimonTemplar and RustyTRN.
When bidding unexpectedly closed, RosieR had bested SimonTemplar’s final bid by a mere $10.
RosieR will now be able to receive advice from the 31-year-old Georgetown Law graduate “by phone or Skype at a mutually convenient time,” for up to an hour. If all goes according to plan, Fluke will help RosieR “harness the power of activism and/or advocacy.”
RustyTRN is Rusty Humphries of the Talk Radio Network (right). Now a rising talk radio star himself, he was once Rush Limbaugh’s producer and rushed to defend his “friend” during the March 2012 backlash to his smearing of Sandra Fluke. He is responsible for many the worst parody jingles on Limbaugh’s show and has a long history of stunts, including an abortive attempt to cross into Egypt from Israel in 2011.
We can only speculate as to what Humphries intended to do had he won the bidding. But given the fact that StopRush, a social movement born in reaction to Limbaugh’s smearing of Fluke, has upended the business of right wing talk radio, I can’t imagine he was planning anything good.
Rusty Humphries is @Talk2Rusty on Twitter.
ADDING: In a comment below, Humphries admits to making the bids. Via Twitter, he confirmed that his intent was to circumvent Fluke’s refusals to be interviewed by right wing talk radio hosts. Chirpstory below:
