It could be a quote from Andrew Jackson. Via ThinkProgress, my representative to Congress, Mo Brooks:
“With respect to Cherokee Indians illegal aliens who are now leaving land jobs in Alabama, that’s exactly what we want.”
Further, from the website-that-shall-not-be-linked:*
(T)he bottom line is illegal aliens consume far more of our tax resources than they generate,” he said. “They commit heinous crimes against American citizens.”
Neither thing is true, but he has repeated these popular lies often enough to make them truths of their own. Brooks is correct when he observes that all of this is by design, too, that the whole point is to make the brown people leave. What he doesn’t say here, but suggested in his Killen town hall, is that without this kind of ethnic cleansing the immigrants will all vote for Democrats. In other words, this latter-day Trail of Tears comes for the good of the Republican Party.
