The southern city of Sabha has fallen; so have the Jufra Oasis towns of Hun, Waddan, and Sukna. Allegiances in a string of southern towns along the edge of the Sahara remain unknown. Algerian border crossings near Ghat and Ghadames will have to be rolled up. All of this is more important than the sieges of Bani Walid or Sirte, both of which may be forced into capitulation more easily when cut off from communication and resupply.
Every bullet and Grad rocket fired, every sandwich eaten, every gallon of gas burned in defense of regime elements is gone forever and irreplaceable. At this point, it really doesn’t matter where Ghadafi is hiding. He’s not coming back, and sooner or later his last loyalists will figure that out.
