Daryl Johnson, a former senior Department of Homeland Security domestic terror analyst, told the Southern Poverty Law Center last month that “there is just one person” at DHS who is focused on these issues.
I know the link’s a week old, but if you visit my front page you’ll see why this means something today. Apologists for right-wing violence have managed to make the government shut its eyes. If Muslims had successfully campaigned to draw America’s attention away from Salafist terrorism prior to 9/11, the same right-wing mouthpieces would be screaming about it to no end. Terrorism is terrorism — no matter if it comes wearing a crescent or a cross.
