Saturday Afternoon TV: Free For All

Made in 1967, The Prisoner was far ahead of its time. The episode Free For All is a thought-provoking examination of authority, liberty, and the culture of electoral politics. In fact, I thought of this episode Tuesday amid all the clamor over Obama’s deal with Senate Republicans; modern presidents are very much captive to a Beltway that Digby calls “the village” in mind of this very TV show.
