Last summer, a heated email exchange with a wingnut resulted in their adding me to several email lists — including Newt Gingrich, who today sent me advice from an outfit called “Agora Financial.” The link there is wearing a condom, and unless you are hardened against marketing seduction I suggest you don’t click it.
The link provided by Newt features advice from Greg Geunthner, who seems to make his living by shilling for penny stocks. Nor is Agora a stranger to the law , working this notoriously scam-ridden segment of the investment industry; they’ve been hauled into court before. Agora pushes the usual fringe-addled get-rich schemes, including precious metals.
I am not surprised to find Newt’s mailing list shilling for stock scam schemers. At this point, his entire career exists in a continuum of shilling, pandering hackery. In that sense, he is a leading indicator for the movement as a whole.
