I have news for Glenn Beck: the Civil Rights Era was not created by “people of character,” it was created by black men and women returning from wartime service and the privileges of earned rank to a prosperous, yet decidedly unequal, America.
It actually predates the rise of Martin Luther King. As a matter of fact, it goes all the way back to the slave ships and continues through Nat Turner, Haiti, and the Underground Railroad. Even Beck admits here “the dream is unfulfilled,” but to him the dream is no longer having responsibility for the racist bullshit he spews.
