Oh, Rand Paul, you libertarian opthalmologist, you. Taking credit for schools you never graduated, then creating your own medical board instead of becoming board-certified…the grifting comes so easy to you, doesn’t it? You’re like Leonardo DiCaprio playing pilot, you really are. I like the way USA Today put it:
The controversy was stirred up this weekend by our Gannett colleagues at the Louisville Courier-Journal. Our sister newspaper reported that Paul, who has a Bowling Green eye surgery practice, touts his board certification from the National Board of Ophthalmology. The president and owner of this board? Paul. His wife is vice president of the group, and his father-in-law is listed as its secretary.
The C-J story reported that a medical specialties board tied to the American Medical Association doesn’t recognize Paul’s certification, because his group is not accredited. From 1995 through 2005, Paul was certified by an AMA-recognized certification board. Paul says he let his certification lapse over a dispute over who the American Board of Ophthalmology recertifies.
Yes, you say Medicaid is socialism but you sure are in favor of increased doctors’ compensation for Medicaid docs, aren’t you? What was that…Ah, yes. “Physicians should be allowed to earn a comfortable living”
And half your patients (to your own account) are on Medicaid. As the Church Lady might say: how convenient!
Someone should Forrest Gump you into photos and video of the Civil Rights Era. The point is made with your own damn words in such a video. Gosh, think I’ll make some phone call right now with that idea.
Someone should ask you whether you think the 14th Amendment applies to BP and Goldman-Sachs but not Pedro’s baby. Just one question on the 14th so we can get back to going backwards.
It happened to Angle; it can happen to you, too. Kentucky can turn out to be like Alabama rejecting Tim James or Nevada swinging back to Reid.
ONE southern Republican Senate seat makes 2010 a huge defeat for the GOP. Two would be a disaster. I maintain this November can be a catastrophic failure for Republicans if the Democrats will stop trying to win by default.
