Media Drops Finance Reform Bombshell

The president managed to get a consumer reform bill out of Congress, and the details look good. As HuffPo tells it:

The era of the $35 cup of coffee has come to an end, for most.

Whhhhhaaaaah? I thought the finance reform bill was some sort of gigantic sellout. Like health care reform, the goods on this one are arriving in wrapped packages:

Unless a consumer chooses to opt-in for overdraft protection, their ATM and debit purchases will be declined if an account has insufficient funds.

Meanwhile, Cody points out the latest Gallup poll data:

This president is doing better in his second year than any since Eisenhower, which shouldn’t be a surprise because he’s basically an Eisenhower Republican.

As with health insurance reform, the government web portal is easy to remember and use. There is nothing at all demonic about it; and yet, the right-wing noise machine says exactly this. America, tiring of tea, may yet decide to quit the party.
