The congitive dissonance and psychological projection start right away:
Barack Hussein Obama — mm, mm, mm! You’ve been called the chosen one, the messiah, an African god, a post-racial president, Barack the magic Negro.
These are names thrown at him by other people. “Magic Negro” comes straight from Rush Limbaugh, for example. The president never claimed divine authority, but wingnuts on the right do exactly that all the bloody time.
Barack you are a lot of things, but you are not a magic negro. You’re an angry Negro and you have broken the hearts of more black Americans than any white man ever could.
“Angry Negro” comes straight from Glenn Beck, and it’s bogus. Brett Baier badgered the president for thirty minutes trying to get something resembling anger out of him and failed.
You have now proven that you are an enemy of the United States. Mr. Obama, on behalf of sixty million plus sportsmen and women I’m here to announce our plan to kill your political future by repealing and defunding your destruction.
Obama is an “enemy” because he’s foreign, possibly Muslim, but not because he’s black — even though Warren has referred to his blackness seven times already. See how that works?
Now, I’m going to talk down in a language I hope you can all understand because we’re at a time when we’re all gonna be judged in history on how our actions show on November 2nd 2010. The biggest vote of our lives is coming up. On this day we will have to look in the mirror and say,
What is this “we” Warren speaks of? Presumably not “white people,” because he’s not racist. Right?
“will I cast my vote for the party that has lied to me for more than 50 years — the Democrats, the liberals, the progressives — they’ve been ruining the lives of millions of blacks, ruining their dreams, their futures, their hopes.
Really? It wasn’t the legacy of Jim Crow? Right-wing historical revisionism is always good for a laugh…until you recall that millions of Americans actually believe it.
And if you’re a black American it’s time you need to decide are you an American first, or are you an African or black American first?
Interesting that you can be a white American, but not a black American.
Barack, you’re in a fight you will not win because you have underestimated how many millions of Americans love this country and have lost loved ones for these United States. But more importantly, they will fight for the right to life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness, and the right to keep and bear arms.
Amazing. The president has earned an “F” on every grade the Brady Campaign gives; he has even extended gun rights into national parks. Yet he somehow remains such an enemy of gun rights that Warren is “prepared” to do incredible things:
Barack, our mission is peaceful but prepared, and our plan to defeat you is a simple one: we will vote out all lifetime politicians, all Democratic incumbents, and all non-conservative Republicans. And then we’ll repeat this process in 2012. We’ll turn the face of the House and Senate around some sixty-plus percent in those two elections and we’ll take back our country.
That would be the largest swing in the history of Congress. It’s also a nakedly partisan line, putting the lie to the idea that tea party insanity is anything but the same right-wing fringe coming out of the closet. Does the GOP avow or disavow Warren, I wonder?
You have declared war on the white man in America putting the wants and needs of moochers, leeches, looters, and criminals ahead of the producers and the workers of America.
See, when a black man is president it’s “war.” But it’s not about race. Right? And you’ve got to love the Ayn Rand hyperbole masking his complete ignorance about the plight of working Americans, who’ve seen their wages stagnate for three decades while the richest get richer.
And we don’t want fifteen to twenty million illiterate Mexicans and chicanos as our new welfare society living like rats in our neighborhoods. They must go, and either the government steps up or the government will have to clean up. They will not stay and get citizenship for breaking the law.
He’s scared of Teh Brown, but not because he’s racist. He even seems willing to use violence (“either the government steps up or the government will have to clean up”) and regards the problem as one of insufficient authoritarianism. When Teh Brown are invading, we must sacrifice freedom to save it. See how that works?
Barack, you, your advisers, pollsters, pundits, talking heads have wanted to know who are the pissed-off people in this country? Well, the pissed off people, sir, are the white people.
But he’s not racist.
It’s the white people, stupid.
No racism there!
It’s taken fifty years of having things shoved down our throats that we’ve now had enough.
Apart from the right-wing’s obsession with oral gratification imagery, I wonder what he means by “fifty years.” That would take us back to 1960. Is he referring to the Civil Rights Act? Selma Bridge? “I have a dream”? Or is he lumping hippies and Negroes together in one big ball of hate?
We’ve had to pay for illegal acts, fraud, deceit, deception,
I’m with him so far on this list: illegal wars, fraudulent war profiteering, deceitful bank bailouts, etc. — maybe there’s common ground? Nah:
social programs that were smoke-and-mirror for far too long. We’re sick of it and we’re not gonna do it anymore.
If he’s referring to Bush’s Medicare Part D program, I absolutely agree. But I doubt that’s what he means. It’s way more likely he means ‘welfare,’ by which he means ‘black people.’ That’s what four decades of Lee Atwater southern strategy will do to your brain.
And Barack, if you want another white face to hate, I’m your huckleberry.
Why does he think the president hates white faces? He talks to Biden, Emanuel, Geithner, Bernanke, Gates, and Hillary Clinton all the time. Does he hate their faces too? Is that why he appoints them and keeps them around?
But even more fascinating is the way Warren keeps referring to the president by first name, as though they were familiar. It’s a step up from calling him “boy,” I guess, but it’s still a little weird.
The “huckleberry” line comes straight out of the movie Tombstone; you’re a daisy if you do, Grady Warren. A daisy if you do.
