Glenn Beck On Gay Marriage

Is Glenn Beck endorsing gay marriage? Not so much:

In a conversation with Bill O’Reilly on why he avoids culture war issues, Beck admitted that he doesn’t think marriage should be a political issue.

“Honestly, I think we have bigger fish to fry,” Beck said. “You can argue about abortion or gay marriage or whatever all you want. The country is burning down…I don’t think marriage, that the government actually has anything to do with…that is a religious right.”

Two things: (1) this reminds me of the time known fabricator Andrew Breitbart attended the Tea Party Convention in Nashville and got into an argument with WingNutDaily WorldNetDaily’s Joseph Farah about the Obama birth certificate nontroversy. Breitbart, like Beck, did not debunk the nontroversy, but merely suggested it was a loser. Beck is basically admitting that Adam and Steve are out of the closet, looking fabulous, and never going back in.

(2) Beck “cares” about churches in the sense that Prop 8 was pushed very hard by the LDS church to which he belongs. Other than that, I doubt he could define the 1st Amendment rights and speech constraints of the LDS church and he knows exactly nothing about the history of marriage in America. One of this country’s greatest inventions was to make marriage a purely civil matter. His own marriage certificate was issued by a county officer and sanctioned by a state.

It’s not a change of heart or centrist cred for Beck. Just more of the same idiocy from the same idiot:
