Ignorance Is Strength

Beck at the commencement for Liberty University yesterday:

God is the truth. The truth will consume everything that is not true. … The world is full of lies.

In other words, don’t believe science or history or facts. Believe only what fits the agenda of proper political piety. Reject the truth and substitute the truth provided. It’s fitting he would deliver such an Orwellian address at Liberty, which is an institution with an Orwellian name: students can be reprimanded for seeing an unapproved PG-rated movie, the Democratic Party is banned from campus, and all 1st Amendment activity on campus must be approved in advance.

The reason Beck sees tyranny everywhere is because he is the tyranny. The reason he accuses the president of racism is that he is racist. His act is all psychological projection. Again: Beck is NOT a journalist or even an entertainer; he’s a propagandist for an incredibly stupid, vile, and ugly form of authoritarian politics.

He is NOT a patriot. Vap-O-Rub tears don’t make it so.
