Lagging Indicators

From Sam Stein at HuffPo:

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) pledged on Wednesday to take a serious look at revising the filibuster rules at the beginning of the next Congress, calling the current level of obstruction in the Senate unacceptable.

I wish Reid hadn’t resorted to sports metaphors in making his case, but there you are. The jellyfish has sensed a consensus to modify the filibuster rule — no specifics yet, but the idea has enough momentum for him to join.

I’m also intrigued by HuffPo’s choice of photograph:

A more confrontational Reid? Nah. A lagging indicator? Yeah. Those two fingers say “I won’t be the first.”
