ABC Versus the Prius

So there are ABC affiliates losing ad revenue from Toyota dealers upset with “excessive network coverage” of the Prius being added to the recall? I guess that goes to prove two things: (1) car companies make mistakes and (2) ABC stands for Always Bend Conservative. The story is read meat for the John Stossel faction, just like their coverage of the stimulus:

Yes, car companies — like other advertisers — have a right to complain about coverage and pull their ads if they like. But given that there are many safety recalls each year, what makes this one different is the nature of the car.

Which reminds me: the new jobs bill is (of course) stalled. But instead of building the cars of the future, the reactionaries think we should let so-called “free markets” continue to kill our manufacturing base by not investing in green jobs here. Because they’re smart that way!
