    Pragmatic Republican, I imply nothing. The media bias is in the letters: Controversy, Noise, and Nuveaumania.

    And yes, I argue the media has become a stovepipe for right-wing noise.

    My challenge to all is – Name one media outlet(TV, radio, whatever) on Planet Earth that is completely unbiased, and I mean totally 100% objective in their coverage, analysis, and presentation of the issues of the day. Oh, wait…that would be SNL!!!

    Anonymous, the bias is supposed to be for an honest attempt at understanding the world. To that end, there are very few sources without bias. But the "liberal"-ness of media is extremely overblown by self-interested ideologues.

    Bottom line: The people must be told what to think and what to do, so that the "gatekeepers" can maintain their status. A truly unbiased media outlet would not be afraid to expose anything that might not fit nicely into polite conversations at the post office. "Oh no, we musn't offend; we don't want to lose sponsors." "Oh, that story just could cause a shift in public opinion, so we can't run it." "Can't say THAT!!!; I don't want to get fired!!!"

    So true, Matt. It is really disgusting, the MSM. How the public is so brainwashed from fear is beyond me. There really aren't too many thinking people out there anymore.
    So, how do we gather up those of us with brains and demand real, fact based news instead of all the rethug propaganda? Is it even possible?

    Each time they have on pundits for both sides, they always seem to get a rethug who is extreme. Do they even have moderate rethugs anymore? And if so, where the hell are they?
    It really pisses me off when they refer to President Obama as a liberal. Today's Democratic Party is like the rethugs of 40 years ago. Today's rethugs are just freakin crazed lunatics.
    I want my Country back.
    I like Obama, he's doing a great job considering all the mess he inherited. But he is not a liberal. I don't think he is even center/left. Just center.

    mary b, center is precisely where you'll find Obama. The politics of consensus demand it. But your statement that he closely resembles the GOP of a half-century ago isn't far off — I'd compare Obama to Eisenhower, myself.
