You may have heard that Dick Armey had to resign from his law firm job due to pressure from clients. He’s already something of a false martyr among the wingnut bloggers, but hold your pity: Armey is definitely not hurting. According to page 5 of the 2007 IRS filing (PDF) by FreedomWorks, the former House majority whip was compensated with a staggering $200 per hour. Seriously.

Of course, Armey “earned” the same salary from FreedomWorks in 2005 (PDF), so maybe he’s due for a raise now that he’s given up his day job?
